Blogging!

Hi all,

I’ve noticed that the blogs have been a little slow this year. Admittedly, we are a very small group, and there have been concerns about privacy.  The blog is worth 30 %, so please do make sure your blog is up to date and the activities are completed – best not to leave it to the last minute.  If you are concerned about privacy, you can set your blog to provaite and then invite each of us to join.

William has been keeping his blog up to date so make sure you have a look if you are needing inspiration. I’ve been in regular phone/email contact with most of you – feel free to call me if you want to chat about your projects. For most of you, you will be finalising your projects  – if you do need an extension (I know a couple of you started late), do let me know and we can negotiate.

Kind regards, Cathy

Hello again

Hi everyone ( all 4 of you),

I know you are in the process of starting placements and organising Assessment 1 but don’t forget to start the blogging process. Thanks for your first activity William – I do appreciate it.

For those Qld people, I’m pleased to let you know that a bill has been established to set up a Health Promotion Agency in Qld (Health & Wellbeing Qld). As you may know, the workforce was reduced quite a few years ago, but HP is well and truly back on the government agenda again. I’ll keep you update on how this progresses. In other news, we now have our first intake of Masters Public Health students on Melbourne campus; we’ll be expanding tis to Cairns and Sydney in Term 2. Life is very busy in the Public Health space.

Anyway, I look forward to reading about your journey through your blog – I am always just a phone call away if you need to chat!

Regards Cathy

Welcome to the Public Health in Practice Blog 2019

Hi everyone.

Welcome to the PHIP blog for 2019! This blog is for Health Promotion students.

For some of you, blogging will be a new experience so I do encourage you to spend time familiarising yourself with WordPress. Once you get the hang of it, you can be as creative as you wish! The blog is worth 30% of the marks for this course, so you will need to post regularly and comment on the blogs of other students. In past years, most of the correspondence for the course was via blogging rather than Moodle so please do make an effort to share your thoughts and experiences on here.

It is a little tricky to get started, but there quite a few Youtube clips and articles on the net to help you get started if you are feeling overwhelmed!

If anyone else has anything they feel is worth sharing or has any blog tips do let me know.

Regards, Cathy

That’s it for now, but I’ll blog again soon.
